Port Machinery Gantry Crane Operation Safety Requirements

The operation of port machinery gantry cranes requires high safety technology for operators. It is necessary to pay attention to the following points in order to effectively guarantee the safety performance of operators and equipment and prolong the service life of the machinery.
The operator should conduct a comprehensive inspection of the lifting machinery accessories before the operation, and promptly eliminate and find abnormalities to do a good job of repairing and handling. During the operation, a warning signal should be issued to tell the surrounding personnel to leave the scene, and the main power supply can be turned on for work after confirming that there is no safety hazard.
If your equipment is used for the first time or exceeds the load of the equipment, you should put down the heavy objects before lifting half a meter from the ground, and adjust the weight to the most suitable load before lifting work. At the same time, It is necessary to check the good condition of the brake, etc. In the process of operation, it is necessary to sound a bell and alarm in strict accordance with each operation. If there is an emergency or when the line of sight is unclear, a continuous ringing alarm should be carried out to notify the surrounding people to pay attention.
If the gantry crane suddenly loses power during operation, all controller handles should be placed in the “zero” position, and after the power supply is normal, check whether there is any abnormality in the crane’s movements. In the process of operation, the large and small vehicles are stopped in a manner that prohibits reverse braking. If the operation needs to change the direction of the large and small vehicles, the handle should also be placed in the “zero” position. The gantry crane is designed with two hooks, but the hoisting machinery cannot use two hooks to lift heavy objects at the same time.
